Blinded by emotions..??Some1 gimme a satisfactory answer..

I have had this question in my mind for a long time now...Y do people cry when they get their girl married to someone and she takes her first step into a new life...A happy future awaits her..but is it right to start with a tear..??

the very fact that she is your daughter is not going to change at any cost...It is just that your family has grown a little more and the horizon has just widened...Y cry for that..Am confused...!!!

in complete bollywood ishtyle, khushi ke aansoo.. :-)

i had been to my classmate's marriage and though she and her family were very happy types through out the wedding, when the priest began to read out the mantras and the slokas, where hen mentioned stuff like "this girl is no more your own" etc, the girl her parents ended up weeping..

she has lived with her parenst for 19 years, and all of a sudden she is expected to live and adapt herself to a new environment, it is tough na..

some rituals are intended to make ppl cry i guess, specially one where the girl is given a plate of rice which is sponsored by the boy's family and the girl throws that rice above her head to her parents, converying that she is returing all that her parents had once given her.. Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggghhhhhhh..

Rightly said...but a few rituals r still being followed just because they are in the books and followed since a long time...Rituals can't change but peoples mindset has changed a lot...Though not all but majorly...

Wid all these happening..Still the kushi ke aansoo still lives..;))

true...but majorly it's more o the empty feeling that makes the parent cry... the feelin o departin from their daughter who has been the apple o their eye for 23 years... n suddenly one fine day she will go.. become some one else's live else where... slwly her invovlement in the parental house goes 0!!

the feelin o giving away ur love... ur blood... yup that is exactly what makes the parents cry...

rituals mindset all true.... but the wedding rituals all have a meanin and each thing if understood will give u a whole new perspective to look at ur wife or the husband....

i know its a rather old comment... yet its the first time i am readin ur blog...n this is a very sensitive topic wen it comes to me... so i couldn resist replyin.. :) take care...

n btw BEAUTIFUL writing... al the emotions put out so well... exact words..the right feeling!1 brilliant... must say m way too moved.. :)
